I am inspired by people who work tirelessly to pursue their dreams. Building a successful business takes blood, sweat, and tears. I have seen firsthand how business IS personal. I watched both of my late parents give up everything as they struggled to build, failed, rebuilt and failed again, striving relentlessly to ensure that my sister and I would have better lives than theirs. This story is not unique to my family alone. Similar stories are common among many small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Stories of hard work and perseverance are important to share, and can inspire so many. After all, more than 40 million hardworking (1) Americans have lost their livelihood and hundreds of thousands of small business owners (2) are at the brink of bankruptcy. And yet, 40 million people make an army of limitless potential when it comes to building a world that can serve and sustain us all. Everyone has something to contribute, something to share. We do not have to be disempowered by loss when we can be collectively empowered by possibility. Think of the future we might create!!

“Creating Through Adversity” is a paradigm I champion. It is also the topic of our second Futurum Forum. To be an entrepreneur, a job creator, is no walk in the park. Whether your business is self- or VC funded; every decision you make as a CEO, or as a leader within organizations, both big and small, can massively impact people’s lives. The reality can be overwhelming. And so, this second Futurum Forum is focused on ACTION:

  • How do we center our power, focus, awareness and drive in order to create anew?

  • How do we create from intention, from higher purpose, and from an informed perspective so that our decisions have positive and productive results?

Futurum Forum was born from a place of hope. My hope is that by learning from seasoned entrepreneurs who will unabashedly share with you some of the tools they have used to navigate these monumental times, you will walk away with some kind of action plan/ a framework that you can apply to your businesses. Most of all, I hope you will feel inspired, supported, and empowered.

Thank you for hosting such an empowering event last week at Futurum Forum. It was an honor to participate in the collaboration among a dynamic group of thought leaders. It is events such as Futurum Forum that inspire the positive ideas and actions of a better future.

Join us at the Futurum Forum for a rigorous, collaborative exchange that culminates in powerful seeds of change. Bring your optimism. Bring your altruism. Bring your hope. Bring your belief in the power of the human spirit and your commitment to kindness, compassion, and generosity. Within our rigorous discussion framework, where accountability and integrity are mandatory, we will develop actionable strategies and blueprints for a world reimagined. We will employ our creative gifts, visualize possibilities and identify solutions. At the Futurum Forum, thinkers do, doers collaborate, and meaningful, positive change is activated and celebrated.

I was so glad to be part of the Futurum Forum networking and discussions. This time can feel isolating and exhausting but I left feeling empowered, energized, and inspired to keep pivoting, and if that doesn't work—rest and pivot again!
