Mel Lim
Mel Lim is a Malaysian-born Chinese immigrant, a single mother of two boys, and a cancer survivor. A Mensa member since age 12, she exemplifies high-functioning intelligence, combining her expertise in systems planning and architectural design with a visionary approach to technology and human experience. Throughout her career, she has launched more than 20 tech products, securing $300M in capital raises and earning over 100 design awards. Mel's work spans neuroscience, cybersecurity, robotics, AI, hospitality, and retail, pushing the frontiers of cutting-edge technologies across global industries. As a published author and sought-after lecturer, Mel shares her insights on innovation, XR/spatial computing, and women in leadership at institutions such as Stanford University, Microsoft, and KPMG. Beyond her professional success, she harbors a deep curiosity for quantum physics and the future of human transcendence, exploring the intersections of machine intelligence and human potential. Her love for boba and noodles keeps her grounded, even as she traverses between XR dimensions and the vast, interconnected cosmos.

Preston and Harrison was birthed during an unprecedented period in human history. It was born out of hope and love for art and imagination. Like so many working, single mothers, Co-Founder Mel Lim had to recalibrate her working life with her two children: Evan (Preston), age 10, and Tyler (Harrison), age 7. Lim adapted and adopted an entirely new remote learning schedule and made sure that family life would be as “normal” as possible during the quarantine. At one point, Lim herself was sick and unable to be with her children for a month. During that period, she realized that she derived happiness and fulfillment from witnessing how her children perceived the world with awe, hope, curiosity, and joy, even in the most miniature of experiences. Their playfulness and irrepressible hope gave her strength. Art and imagination kept all three of their spirits lifted during uncertain times and the family longed to inspire that same tenet in others. They wanted to give back to the world the blessings afforded to them. Over a 14-month period, they produced thousands of beautiful art pieces through a simple process — kids draw, mama paints. Preston and Harrison want to inspire others to create, draw, love, live, and laugh.
